This class we were supposed to have brought in a bag of popped popcorn and some fabric from home. Below are the labors of this course!

This was the first drawing we did after we set up our "still life". We had 10 minutes to draw what we saw. You can see how small and detailed I "tried" to get, but everything was just kind of jumbled.
This was the 2nd attempt after we each looked at each other's work. This time around we had 20 minutes to work on what we saw. We were told to make it twice as big as the previous drawing we did. So, you can see my kernels got more spread out and a bit larger. Better shading and better shaping.
This was our last attempt with the popcorn. We had 40 minutes to draw and you can see that I focused on 2 kernels sitting off from the pile and I liked how the light hit them. They were interestingly shaped and I was just drawn to them. We had to make those twice as big as our last drawing. So you can see I was able to draw the shapes very well defined and draw the shadows in. I was very happy with how these turned out.

Then we had about 10 minutes left with the last part of class. We draped our fabric and just drew. Unfortunately it wasn't nearly as done as I'd like, and I think next time I do this, I won't use the charcoal for filling in the colour. But since I'm posting ALL of my work...I'm not even going to censor what I'm not particularly proud of.
So here is the pillowcase I had brought in. It was white with BIG black petal flowers (almost like daisies, but just a great pattern from my Ikea bedset)

Hi Becka! Bravo. I'm glad to see you doing something you've always wanted to.
To answer myspace, yes, on February 29th. I'm back in school as of the end of July to finish off my bachelor's and then maybe go to law school.
I think that's absolutely brilliant! Congratulations! Do keep in better touch. what's your email address?? I don't think I have it!
