The small portable sketch pad fitting into the purse is a great way to draw on the go. I easily get bored and sleepy on long trips, so I bring mine as Ohio is full of hills and cornfields, with old barns and old worn down buildings.
I actually take a large one with me to a lot of places. That's how the hockey rink one came about. I'm trying to get out of the trap of drawing small, my art professor wants us to break out of it, but I do have a 4x6 sketchpad on order.
