I create pieces that celebrate the more simplistic things in my life and the world around me. I strive to look at things through a very clear lens in order to appreciate the small details that people tend to overlook for the obvious. Much of my work relies on symbolism, in its most basic forms, to blend my different philosophies on life and nature. I prefer to do stand alone pieces because it’s important to me that each piece tells its own story. The movement in my work, specifically my paintings I equate to music. I strive to capture the dissonance and the melody from the music in the air around me.
As my work has progressed, I’ve incorporated more vibrant colors. I feel that color is the single most important part of our world next to sound. I believe that a single color can tell many different stories and I get excited imagining how many stories the colors will tell about my piece and see how it will affect someone. My hope is that when people look at my work, it will make them look a little inwards and thoughtful about themselves. Push them to find newer parts of their personality that they may have missed because they were looking more to the obvious rather than the smaller, simpler aspects of themselves.
