The picture:

Technical Aspects:
The above picture will be painted as a Diptych (one continous picture spread across 2 canvases). The left canvas will be painted jet black (acrylic) with White objects. The right canvas will be painted white with Black objects.
The story:
I decided to do a personal take on what's called a "Triple Goddess" symbol from Wicca. Basically showing the 3 stages of being a woman. The waxing crescent moon shows her in her youth. The statue in the center shows her in the prime of her life. The Waning crescent on the other side is her in her old age. Above that I'm putting the phases of the moon to show her journey through life. The statue in the center holds her arms up to the moon because in paganism the full moon is when a woman's powers are at their height. I'm using the colour of the piece to do a play on the yin-yang being two halves of a whole.
